| When upgrading from the Blackberry Curve, I had two phones in mind: the Blackberry Tour and HTC Ozone. The features of both phones are similar. However the differences were that the HTC Ozone had wifi and flash support. By downloading Skyfire, I am able to view or play embedded videos or music on practically any website. For example Youtube, CNET, or Cnn videos. With large amount of features and the ability to stream audio and video, battery life is something that needs to be monitored. Overall a wonderful cell phone that is similar to having a computer in my pocket. |

| Well, aside from having to have a data plan, I've found this phone to be fast and very responsive. I own 2 of which I have to sell. I wouldn't accept i can't afford the data plan that verizon makes you have for $29.00 plus applicable taxes per month.. They both are equipped with Talks should anyone be interested. I'm selling them for $400.00 each. One is new and only had the battery placed in it and charged, and the other has had maybe ten calls placed on it. Once I was told I had to have the data package, I switched to my motorola Q9C Cause I have no data charges to be bothered with, and placed it back in the box as well. that really made me mad because i wouldn't have bought the phones had I been told about the required data package. Talks is for those who are blind by the way so the phones are accessible meaning it is software that makes the phone talk which I can remove should someone sighted purchase it. |

| It was time to switch from my current phone, a BB 8830 World Edition and after extensive research, I kept coming back to this phone so I ordered it knowing that I can change my mind within 30 days.
It arrived and the first thing I noticed was how light it was compared to my old BB. Screen size was similar and the QWERTY kb was positione straight across and a little off kilter (the 'L' button is under the 'I' instead of 'O'). After familiarizing myself with the Ozone, I began to play with it and immediately noticed several things - the Ozone was much faster especially when browsing the internet, the kb was a lot clearer in the dark, and the D-pad took a little getting used to compared to the Blackberry. After a couple of days fine tuning all my preferences in, I can say that the Ozone is a much better product overall than the 8830. The D-pad is definitely a bit slower to use but the trade off is that I don't accidentally hit and engage the trackball when the phone is in my pocket. Love that it has wi-fi and a camera, although it is a generation or three behind RIM's current offerings - it still does the job though. As for being a WinMo phone - you either love it or not. Its fine for me. I was able to pick up this phone from VZW for $10 and can safely say the low price is no reflection on the quality of this product. I highly recommend it! |

| I bought this phone to take advantage of Pageplus Cellular $29.95/mo plan - 1200 min/1200 text/ 50 mg data. It has proved to be a GREAT choice for a budget phone and plan with advanced features. Windows Mobile is a bit of a pain after the ease of Nokia, but I am learning to like this phone. Small QWERTY keyboard took a while to get used to. On the first day, I was sure I was going to Re-Bay this phone. But changed my mind quickly. It uses minimal data to check email as often as you like, it has a nice "Comm Manager" for switching between data/wifi/flight etc modes & on & off. Skype seems to echo to the other party, but sounds great to me (download this app or use Fring). I really like that I could use Fring to catch my SIP calls (Google Voice/Gizmo) via wifi connection when travelling without using minutes or data. Another cool feature is the sim card function in addition to CDMA network. Unlock the sim slot ($10 on eBay) and you can use this phone with any international sim card when you travel.
In all, good cheap travel phone. Enjoy! If you have been spoiled by a touchscreen, this is likely not for you... |
Not so good |

| I have mixed feelings about this phone that I've had for a week. It has plenty of features but some of them fit into the "WTF were the designers thinking!" department.
1. The Call History shows only the phone number. No time or date. Just about every cheap cell phone provides call time and date so why not this? 2. When you create an email account you are forced to set up an unlock code. But, when you get a phone call you have to enter the unlock code to answer it. I've missed answering calls because I couldn't unlock it fast enough. 3. You have a choice of only 1 minute or 5 minutes for the time that inactivity causes the phone to lock itself. Not enough. Worse, you can't turn it off as the option to do so is grayed out in the settings page. So, once you set an unlock you can't remove it. Stupid! I had to reset the phone to factory settings to get rid of the unlock and lost call history, emails, etc. 4. There is no way that I could find to delete an email account after its been set up. Stupid! Again, I had to reset the phone to factory settings to get rid of the email account and lost call history, emails, etc. 5. The silver button in the middle of the directional keypad is too narrow and shiny so you have to come at it sideways with the tip of your thumb and hope it doesn't slip. Try and come at it from below with your thumb and you end up pressing the up/down arrows by accident. This should be a square or circular button with a non-shiny surface. 6. Windows Update doesn't work! Sorry but I'm not imnpressed and will probably take advantage of Verizon's 30-day exchange to get something different, perhaps a Blackberry. |
