Working in the mobile phone industry is fantastic because you get to test so many different types of phones on a daily basis today I'm looking at the Blackberry Storm 9500 which is being around for a few months now but I'm really only starting to write a review.

This is the first touchscreen device from RIM it features a very simple to block form factor, and comes with an accelerometer for screen rotation. On the left-hand side of the phone you will find a micro USB port, which can be used to connect to a laptop or PC and also used as a charger. There is also something called a convenient key, which can be programmed with your favorite application, with the press of the button the application will open up on the phone. On the right-hand side of the phone there is another convenient key, which is set by default to the camera shutter button - this of course can be changed to any application of your choosing. There is also a volume rocker. On the back of the phone you'll find a 3.2 megapixel camera which comes with what is called an assist flash. On the top of the phone there are two more buttons, which to be honest enough to click buttons but these control the mute and to lock the phone when required.

In terms of build quality this storm feels quite nice it's solidly built maybe a little on the heavy side but overall it feels comfortable in the hand. As we have said already this is a touch screen phone but it's a little bit different to what you may have seen before. RIM has somehow managed to make the touchscreen deal as it has clickback. When you touch and application icon this will not open you need to press down until you feel a click disk will then open all your chosen application. This is a really nice feature and is a first in the touchscreen smartphone market.

Looking at the display there is a lot of information, which could overwhelm some people. You can check your connection type, signal strengths, location services, there's also a button for changing profiles, battery strength indicator, how many messages that are unread, time and date. All this information is at the top top of the screen reading it here may sound like a lot but it's the normal standard indicators and icons that you will see on most cell phones nowadays.

On the menu at the bottom of the screen you can quickly access your messages, contacts, calendar and browser. This of course can be customized and very easily in which your favorite applications, which is one of the great things about smartphones the fact that you can customize it for your personal needs.

On the main menu there are 16 icons for applications and programs, these of course can be customized for your personalized needs you can move everything around and you can also hide applications in other folders making it easier to access and change. It is very simple to move an icon and this can be achieved within seconds. We mentioned earlier that there is an accelerometer which rotates the menu when you switch to a landscape viewing. I found this to be sometimes a little slow and no lag between switching from vertical to the horizontal landscape mode could even take at times up to 10 seconds. Of course there may be a number of firmware updates that will change this in the near future.

The BlackBerry Storm is a great touch screen phone with advanced features which are bound to attract cell phone lovers. With its sleek attractive outlook, the BlackBerry Storm shows that looks do not have to be sacrificed for function.

It does seem as if the overall feel from the current BlackBerrys has been retained to ensure that customers feel connected to the Storm. It uses the latest BlackBerry OS 4.7 along with having a somewhat similar design. Once you hold it, one aspect become very evident — it does feel like a sturdy device, built to last a lifetime and the smooth edges the subtle polished finish ensures a very commanding grip. Being a touch-screen, it was vital to have an impressive display screen and the Storm does deliver on that front, displaying a 3.25-inch VGA display that assures brightness and helps to enhance the details of all kinds of images. Further, the entire touch-screen experience is complemented by a 480 x 360 pixel resolution that ensures crisp image quality. Interesting, BlackBerry Storm does not have haptic feedback. Instead, it uses a "tactile-touch" feedback made possible by the spring-loaded touch screen.

BlackBerry Storm boasts of an accelerometer which helps in switching the screen orientation between portrait and landscape mode as the phone is rotated from the normal vertical to a more horizontal position or even when moved from left to right. Further, adjusting the backlight brightness and font size can be done with the minimal of effort. It uses the tried-and-tested BlackBerry SurePress and the text-entering process has some useful options to offer. In the portrait mode, you can use the SureType keyboard and the QWERTY keyboard comes alive when the phone is used in the landscape mode. However, what enhances the touch-screen capabilities is the finger tap system wherein you can tap twice on the screen to zoom-in on images or use a finger-swipe like motion to scroll through pages of a long mail or message. The DataViz Documents application comes in useful for users to edit Microsoft Office documents on the go.

The Storm has been packaged with a travel charger, a set of adapters, along with a USB cable, 8GB micro-SD and SIM card, making it one of the most comprehensive touch-screen offerings in terms of offering accessories. The BlackBerry Storm has dual-mode network functionality, which means that it automatically switches between GSM and CDMA networks to offer uninterrupted usability. It comes equipped with GPS which doubles the cell phone up as a positioning and street navigation device. Further, the Storm has a 3.2 Megapixel camera that offers every contemporary high-end mobile camera functions, including flash, image stabilization and auto focus.

It may seem like the iPhone may have the full touch screen smartphone market cornered. There aren't many phones to choose from in this family. It takes a very innovative company to release a rival full touch screen smartphone. Blackberry offers consumers such a rival. The RIM Blackberry Storm is one of the latest additions to the full touch screen smartphone line. It is the first full touch screen cell phone from Blackberry. Blackberry entered the race with a complete set of advantages and feature set it has brought along with from its impressive Blackberry smartphone line. With its impressive list of features and low price the RIM Blackberry Storm will make a great phone for anyone who is looking for an affordable replacement to the iPhone. But the Storm also does come with a list of minor problems that can hamper a person's enjoyment of the phone.

The RIM Blackberry Storm is quite similar to the iPhone in its design and look. The notable differences are that the Storm is shorter and heavier than the iPhone. Also there are standard phone controls located under the display screen. The biggest achievement is the Storms utilization of SurePress technology. This allows the user to perform functions by actually clicking on the screen instead of just tapping it. Unfortunately clicking on the screen does take a while to get used to because honestly clicking on the screen feels awkward. Also anyone with big hands or fingers might have trouble typing messages because the keyboard that is displayed is quite small and the letters are crammed together. Those accustom to trackball navigator might miss it as it is absent on the RIM Blackberry Storm.

The RIM Blackberry Storm offers the same features found on all previous Blackberry phones. It continues offering its users an amazing operating system and even upgrades it from the previous installment. The user is able to use and open various Microsoft Office files such as Word, Excel and even Power Point. As with previous Blackberry phones the Storm is able to link with your company's Blackberry Enterprise Server allowing you access to corporate emails and files. The phone can even act as a wireless modem for laptops. It is an amazing application which costs only $15 a month.

The phone feels as if it was rushed to be released just in time for the holidays because there are a lot of bugs and small glitches. The accelerometer needed more work. Switching the phone to and from landscape mode was fine but websites took a while to change screen position. The multimedia controls are also affected by this. When rotating the phone the controls sometimes appeared to be flashing and even disappear from the screen at one point. Aside from the accelerometer websites generally took a while to load and certain apps were sluggish upon launching.

As far as the phone performance the RIM Blackberry Storm did great. Callers can enjoy clear and crisp calls. The voices on the other end will sound very well. Also your voice will sound clear to your caller as well. The microphone is great at isolating and not picking up background noise.

The RIM Blackberry Storm could use more work. There have been promises of firmware upgrades which will fix many of the bugs found on this phone. While the updates to fix some of the problems they don't address all of them. But for the price of the phone and amazing capabilities it is still a reasonable buy. Just be sure to get the firmware upgrade if you decide to purchase this phone.

Pocket PCs offer a wide range of applications and functionality. Some of the more popular functions are described below.

The primary software that comes with a Pocket PC is included in the Windows Mobile package. Pocket versions of familiar Microsoft programs, including Pocket Word, Pocket Excel, Pocket Internet Explorer, and Pocket PowerPoint, are intended to give on-the-go access to files that are shared with a desktop computer. Many third-party programs can also be installed on the Pocket PC. Other applications include a calendar, to do list, and address list.

Pocket PCs include the ability to browse the web through either Pocket Internet Explorer or Opera web browsers. Several methods of connecting to the web are available. WiFi connectivity is the same wireless technology that is used in most laptops and some desktop computers. If the Pocket PC has WiFi built in and a network is available, the device can perform tasks that require access to the Internet or a corporate network. Many public WiFi hot spots provide access, and home WiFi routers are also a popular way to connect wirelessly for Internet access.

Built-in broadband access is another technology that links the Pocket PC phone to the Internet through a cellular network. Unlike WiFi hot spots, a network connection should be available wherever a cellular signal is found. A monthly fee for this service, in addition to normal the cell phone plan, typically ranges from $20 to $60 or more.

Bluetooth and infrared are technologies that allow Pocket PCs to connect to other devices. Intended to connect devices within 30 feet or less, Bluetooth is a wireless method for connecting keyboards, headphones, two-way phone earpieces, and a variety of other peripheral devices. The process of establishing a Bluetooth connection between a device and a Pocket PC or cell phone, referred to as partnering or pairing, can be complex and inconvenient. You may be limited to using only one Bluetooth peripheral at any one time.

Many Pocket PCs include a camera. Some even include video-taking capabilities.

Managing software and files on the Pocket PC is facilitated through Microsoft Active Sync for Windows XP and earlier versions. Windows Vista includes an integrated synchronization utility that is launched automatically when a compatible device running Microsoft Windows Mobile is connected.

Once your Pocket PC is connected to a Windows computer, several important tasks can be completed. Syncing means that information you have added or deleted on your Pocket PC since the last time you connected to your Windows machine is updated on the host computer. Conversely, changes to information on the desktop system will be synced to the Pocket PC. Syncing is also used to install and remove applications from your device.

Since a Pocket PC is virtually a mini computer, you will find many other ways to use the device for entertainment and business purposes.

Pocket PC refers to a type of device that is often called a PDA or personal digital assistants. Pocket PCs are intended to be companion devices that can connect to and exchange information with a PC that is running the Windows operating system. Pocket PCs offer several physical features.

The touch screen allows you to tap with a stylus or fingertip on parts of the screen or icons to perform specific tasks such as opening an e-mail or your contacts. This touchscreen resembles the desktop on PCs that run Windows operating systems.

Several buttons and controls are found on most Pocket PCs. A five-way directional navigation key allows movement much like the arrow keys on a convential keyboard, and the center button is the enter key.

Some Pocket PCs offer a miniature QWERTY keyboard. Some designs place the QWERTY keys on the front of the device below the screen and navigation keys, while others use a slide-out keyboard that is oriented along the long axis of the device. Others may offer only a virtual QWERTY keyboard.

On Pocket PC phones, the Pocket PC functionality is combined with a cell phone. When telephone functions are included, the look and feel of the screens and navigation are still similar to Pocket PC models that do not include a phone.

Since Pocket PCs are small, many computer users cannot manage the five-way navigation button or tiny keys. For these individuals, keyboards that resemble those of laptops on computers are available that can be connected to the device.

If you have been receiving repeated calls from someone at an unlisted number, you are more than ready to get the annoying calls stopped. Reverse Phone Detective is a top choice of consumers for putting a halt to those unsolicited calls.

By going to to the Reverse Phone Detective website and typing in any phone number, you can find out who's calling you within 5 seconds. You will know what city and state they are calling from and even see a Google Map view of the call’s origin.

The results are all-encompassing. The caller’s identity will be revealed - including the name, address, carrier, household members and other details they were trying to hide from you when they dialed your number.

If it is a cell phone they are using, they’re in trouble because the Reverse phone Detective provides you a link for reporting a complaint to their carrier for misuse of their service!

This has become a large problem and for a lot people, it drains their bank account since unwanted calls to your cell phone can run up your bill. Telemarketers have the nerve to call you and pester you, and then refuse to tell you where they’re calling from.

This happens with bill collectors, also. And did you know that now, you may even have bill collectors calling you about a debt your neighbor has? These collectors are calling from untraceable (or so they think) cell phones to harass you about a neighbor’s debt because they looked up the person’s address on Google Maps and see that you live right next door. You don’t want to be doing their dirty work for them, and now you’ll have ammunition to force them to stop calling you.

Occasionally, you may have a personal reason to conduct a reverse phone lookup. Maybe a relationship went South and suddenly you are getting calls in the middle of the night, yet your ex claims he or she isn’t the culprit. Thanks to the Reverse Phone Detective – you will be able to bust whoever it is and put an end to the unwanted calls at once.

Even if the person making the unwanted phone calls considers the act to be a harmless prank, these calls are a form of harrassment. If you can't find what you need in Reverse Phone Detective, you can request that their trained assistants help you to find the caller without you having to pay any extra. Put an end to nightmare unwanted calls, and get Reverse Phone Detective today!

No matter the time of day, an unwanted phone call can be annoying. You want to find out who is making these calls and the reason why. A reverse cellphone lookup service like the Reverse Phone Detective may be exactly what you need.

Caller ID can often be helpful, but sometimes it just says 'unavailable' or gives you a number and not a name. When this happens, don't you want to know who that caller is?

Reverse cellphone lookup directories are easy to use. You can track down who is calling and get particulars on where they reside, who lives with them in the home, and more.

There are a lot of sites that offer this service, but some are more comprehensive than others. The Reverse Phone Detective is about as complete as you'll be able to get, which is why many law enforcement officials use them to obtain the info they need while conducting investigations. Even private investigators turn to this site to sleuth for their customers.

Don’t pick out a reverse cellphone lookup service with a free search, but no membership. The reason you want to participate in a cheap membership program is that these are the ones that include cell phone directories, and not just landlines. They’ve spent lots of time accumulating volumes of valuable information, and not just tapping into a directory htat anyone can use.

Almost everyone has a cell phone these days – many replace their landlines with them. But cell phones are considered private information, so a traditional free directory won’t include that information for you. You’ll just be wasting your time.

A paid service has gone to great lengths to compile information based on landline and cell phone information – even using GPS technology to pinpoint exact locations of a cell phone owner, so they can’t hide from you.

The Reverse Phone Detective gives its members complete details about the phone’s owner, and you can even get your hands on a background search if you want to go that far.

Usually in a matter of seconds from when you type the phone number, you will see the results display on the screen. And, the whole search is anonymous; the caller will never know that you have been looking them up. Try the Reverse Phone Detective today and find out who that annoying callerr really is!
