For the gamer on the go, the iPhone is perhaps the best available gaming platform. It is compact, stylish and has far better graphics than most handheld systems. It has many good games you could consider purchasing, and quite a few good action-oriented games. iMafia, Mafia Live, iMob Online, Mafia Boss, and last but not least, Mafia: Respect and Retaliation. These games are perfect for any gamer with an interest in the Mafia.

One may not want to purchase all of these games at once, and they all have their pros and cons. They are all good games, however, and different games will suit different people.

iMafia is a game which places you in the role of a character, who is of course in the Mafia. You can play the role of a brawler, a mogul or a workaholic. These characters have strengths and weaknesses befitting their names. The brawler is good at fighting, the mogul is good at earning money and the workaholic regenerates energy quickly. This game is a lot like an RPG.

If you're looking for an MMORPG experience, but with the mafia, look no further than Mafia Live. This game places you in the criminal underworld of The City as you interact with other players and strive to become the Don of your family.

Like Mafia Live, iMob Online is a massively multiplayer game which is also quite enjoyable. Unlike the former, however, it has many issues with stability and is plagues with frequent server crashes. If you're looking for an online mafia game, it is best to look elsewhere.

Mafia Boss is in an entirely different genre, however. It resembles the party game called Mafia. It takes place in a village where the citizens have to find out who the mafioso are and the mafioso have to kill off the citizens. It is a fun game if you need a break from the more massive online games but don't want to limit yourself to a single player game. It will be a nostalgic experience for anyone who played the offline version of this game with friends.

Mafia: Respect and Retaliation is a game where you start out as a simple thug and have to advance up the ladder. It offers an exciting blend of MMORPG and strategy, as you grow to command more mafia thugs. Server stability has been an issue, so be prepared for the occasional crash. You can download it for free, so all of its negative features must be considered in light of the fact that it does not actually cost anything.

The recently released mafia games excel in several genres, with no game coming out as the undisputed winner. There are good points to every game, but in terms of overall game play, Mafia Live offers the most variety, as you can interact with many other players and recruit them to your family. If you want to concentrate on one character, you may consider purchasing iMafia. Consider the free game, too.

For those who want to dip into iPhone application development but don't have the knowledge to do the programming themselves, there are highly skilled iPhone developers that can take an idea and write the code. But just like with hiring anyone for contract or freelance work, there are certain risks involved. Hiring someone to do the programming for you can be expensive and it may even be time consuming. So you'll want to make sure that you choose a reputable iPhone app developer, and one that will do the job promised for the proposed price.

There are several different freelance work sites online where you can find iPhone developers and other freelance and contract workers like writers, data entry operators and graphic artists. The price of placing a job at one of these sites and choosing a freelancer from among the bidders varies.

If you look for programmers from online, remember that you probably get what you pay for. If most bidders are quoting you hundreds or more for iPhone application development and a few are willing to do it for a fraction of that cost, there may a reason they work so cheaply. Go for quality, not necessarily just the lowest bidder. Look at the bidders' portfolios and their ratings by other buyers. Do they have other experience, and other programming projects to show you? Have they done projects that are close to yours in what skills will be required?

There are also sites online that are meeting hubs for buyers and just iPhone app developers, such as http://www.iPhoneAppQuotes.com. It's likely that you'll have better luck finding a skilled, qualified programmer at one of these specialty sites, rather than at a huge site with dozens of categories. And though it's always good to find an iPhone developer who has extensive experience with other programming, if they're posting on a specialized iPhone app job board then that's probably where their focus lies and you have a better chance of getting a dedicated programmer instead of one that's trying to do several different things.

You may also want to look at the official Apple iPhone app store for programmers, or network with other iPhone enthusiasts to get recommendations for developers based on word of mouth, which is one of the reliable ways to get a good programmer.

No matter where you find the iPhone developer, be sure to nail down an exact finished price before the project starts. And make sure he or she understands the way in which payment will occur, and when. Avoid developers that demand payment up front or even most of the payment up front. If you use a site designed to hook providers up with buyers, use that site's escrow service. With escrow, the iPhone developers can see the money waiting for them and know they won't be cheated, but they can't get the money until you release it after the iPhone application development is done to your satisfaction.

Jordan Ianelli has been an iPhone App Developer ever since Apple announced the release of the SDK in 2008. After working for 2 iPhone Development Companies, he decided to go on his own and form a company with 2 other iPhone Developers.

The iPhone came on the market without a speed dial function. Since the introduction of the iPhone, other companies have being working on applications that will enable iPhone users to be able to make a call by just touching the screen one time and making a connection. That time has finally arrived. There are several decent apps designed to enhance your ability to quickly dial on your iPhone. Here are just a few of them and they are available in the Apple App store. As the technology continues to improve more and more apps will be coming on the market and each one will bring something special to the iPhone experience. Everyday is a new one in the world of computers and smart phones, and every new app makes using them faster, easier and more exciting.

As noted by various iPhone app reviews, Big Boss Source is one of those choices. Big Boss will let you touch a contact and immediately the speed dial function activates. All you have to do is tap a person's name, there's no need to enter a telephone number. It also gives you a contact/address book, so you don't need one on your home screen just for contacts. It works and it saves time.

Another choice of iPhone app reviews is from the German start-up company Hot Chili Apps. This app allows you to create personal iPhone buttons. Using your fingers to tap with you can design a personal address book by using symbols or photos or text. What this app does is enables you to communicate with just one finger whether it is a call, email or text.

Picture Dial is another recommended app from different iPhone app reviews. When you use this app all you need to do is tap on your contacts picture to call them. It's fast and easy. Developed by Makayama.com it takes most of thinking out of making a call. Using the iPhone keeps getting simpler by the app.

Speed Dial is another app that offers you the luxury of speeding dialing by using your contact list and just by tapping a photo. It's especially convenient to associate a photo with a number, that way you will never forget which face goes with which business card.

There is a brand new app being reviewed by Apple and being tested by 50 users that should be on the market soon. It is called Visual Dial and it will allow you to dial a contact directly from your home screen. This app is designed to connect a number with a photo and then a shortcut is created on your home screen. You then can tap it and it automatically dials the number. When all the testing is completed it will be available in the Apple App store.

There are always new apps coming on the market to improve the iPhone and make it even easier to use. Every new product goes through growing pains but once all the glitches are addressed and corrected the product gets stronger and stronger. The iPhone is a great product and it is opening new windows of opportunity everyday.

Traveling nationwide for business and making all the flight, hotel and other arrangements myself, I needed help organizing my weekly schedule. I recently read a review explaining the travel apps that the Apple App Store offered, so I decided to check them out. I was pleasantly surprised to see over twenty different travel apps that could assist me with all my travel plans including where to eat, sleep, and even communicate in another language if I needed to.

Airplane travel can be a challenge even when the weather is not an issue, but as iPhone app reviews mentioned the TravelTracker app gives me one touch access to the status of all my flights. All I have to do is enter my itinerary and this travel app does the rest. TravelTracker adds times and dates for each flight, creates a packing list, helps me organize it and tracks my travel expenses. Weather information and delays are posted, and other options are suggested.

The Maps app keeps addresses for hotels, stores and restaurants that I frequent, as well as listing local points of interest. It gives me a satellite view of any area just by tapping a location on my iPhone. There is a GPS system available to take me step by step to any destination in any city I visit.

When my business takes me out of the country two important travel apps to have are: the Currency app and the Lonely Planet Mobile Phrasebooks. The Currency app gives me the exchange rate for the dollar in over ninety different currencies. I can convert a dollar into lire, pounds, or yen just by tapping the screen. This currency app allows me to keep track of how much I am spending in dollars, which can get confusing especially when I'm traveling to more than one country on a specific trip. The Lonely Planet Mobile Phrasebooks on the other hand, gives me the ability to translate words and phrases from English to another language. I am able to say hello in French, Spanish, and German or Japanese easily just by tapping. There are over 350,000 translations and it also has a multi-language slang dictionary.

Usually I entertain when I travel and that's where the LocalEats app plays an important role. This app touches upon restaurants in almost all of the cities I visit. It lists their location and how to contact them. Another great app to use for entertaining is the Zagat To Go '09 which gives the names, location and Zagat rating for the top restaurants in most cities. It explains the menu and the type of cuisine they serve. This app also lists the wine selections by vineyard and comments about each restaurant's service, ambiance and price category. Another app that helps me keep track of my expenses is the Tipulator which actually figures the appropriate service tip in any part of the world. This app saves me time and money especially when I am out of the country.

My business trips have gotten easier thanks to advent of iPhone apps. They introduced me to a new world of travel applications which have saved me both time and money. iPhone travel apps have certainly made it easier to go from point A to point B in a more relaxed state of mind and I appreciate and thank the developers for that.

Many of the iPhone reviews contain complaints about various iPhone functions that seem to not operate properly. Apple is constantly working on fixes for the iPhone challenges but there is also a vast resource of iPhone technicians and users that offer practical advice for solving the complaints about some of the functionality with the iPhone. Some of the fixes are simple, others are a bit complex, while some may be downright frustrating but anytime a company releases new technology there are bound to be bugs. The best thing for people that have purchased that technology to do is to keep up on the updates for these problems and keep reporting their problems to the manufacturer.

One of the more common iPhone complaints is that the battery is either difficult to charge or does not hold a charge for very long. This complaint is actually fairly simple to address and the solution may be as simple as a firmware upgrade to your iPhone.

The iPhone is not good with moisture and getting moisture anywhere near an iPhone is asking for trouble. If you think you may have gotten moisture on your iPhone and it has damaged your battery then you need to contact Apple to see if there is any way you can solve this problem. Apple may have a solution to offer.

In current reviews of the iPhone the battery issue has been addressed by Apple and it has been explained that the indicator icon on the iPhone screen is simply incorrectly indicating the power remaining in the iPhone battery. Apple is in the process of offering a fix for this software bug and that should eliminate many of the battery complaints associated with the iPhone.

Another common complaint about the iPhone is the frequency of dropped calls, weak reception, or slow internet access. As new technology gets rolled into the marketplace the support system around it can sometimes take a while to catch up to the technology advances of the product. In the case of the iPhone many of these dropped call and slow internet access complaints are more than likely centered on the network being put into place to support the iPhone. As the iPhone becomes more popular and more call coverage is needed the wireless iPhone network needs to expand. Expanding a wireless phone network can take some time and the real solution to these iPhone complaints is patience. The network to support the iPhone is continually being upgraded and as the upgrades are put in place the dropped calls should stop and the internet access should speed up.

The Apple iPhone is the very beginning of a new breed of mobile communication and with that pioneering spirit always comes challenges. Apple understands the challenges and attempts to address each customer's concerns as quickly as possible. A good business understands that if one customer is experiencing a problem then there is a chance that other customers are as well and the continued success of new technology relies on support from its customers. Apple knows this and is working on the challenges associated with the iPhone.

You see them everywhere you go. The latest fancy gadgets and phones are all around you. Everyone has an opinion about which cell phone looks best and has the latest and greatest features. One of the most talked about smartphones out there is the iPhone. If you're looking for the best cell phone deals, you might be asking yourself - is the iPhone worth it?

Smartphone envy is rampant these days. Each release of the iPhone has been picked apart and reviewed by nearly every technology website, often months in advance. So, what's the big deal? Here are some things to think about when deciding which smartphone is right for you.

Considerations for Smartphone Purchases

First, consider who your current cell phone company is. Apple signed an exclusive contract with AT&T Wireless for the first 5 years. If you are not an AT&T customer, check the contract on your current cell phone plan. If you sign on the dotted line with AT&T and are still under contract with another provider, you could end up with a hefty cancellation fee.

When searching for the best cell phone deals, consider what matters most to you. If your goal is to simply make and receive calls, the iPhone may not be the phone for you. If functionality, features and style matter, it could be a top choice.

The iPhone is a very user friendly and intuitive phone. For people who have been using an iPod Touch, or other Apple products, the iPhone should be very easy to become comfortable with. It is a sleek, sophisticated piece of equipment that is often perceived as complicated.

Apple's latest iPhone's release, the 3G S, includes a 3 megapixel camera, video recording, supports 7 music file formats, and includes Apple's Safari web browser. It syncs videos and music effortlessly with iTunes. The touch screen, which can be used in landscape or portrait format, is easy to learn. If you have longer nails, or bigger fingers, you may need to use a stylus, especially when typing out text.

Being designed, built and supported by Apple is an advantage. Since it runs OS X, it inherits the stability and consistency of other Apple products. This is not the case with Windows Mobile, as it is up to the hardware manufacturer to makes sure the device works with Microsoft's operating system.

Check Out the Competition

Competitors of the iPhone are worth looking at before you make your final decision. The T Mobile G1 Android is a smartphone that is powered by Google's own operating system, based on Linux. It includes One-Touch Google Search, 3G Internet & Wi-Fi. The features of the G1 are similar to the iPhone. However, one big difference between the iPhone and G1 is the keyboard. The G1 has a full slide-out keyboard, which will appeal to those who like the tactile response that an actual keyboard offers.

Sprint's HTC Touch Pro is another smartphone to consider. Like the T-Mobile G1, the Touch Pro has a slide-out keyboard. Since it is a Windows Mobile smartphone, the user interface will be familiar to people who use Microsoft products regularly. The feature that sets it apart from other smartphones is the TouchFLO interface, which lets you navigate by sliding your finger across the screen.
Pre-Purchase Research

Most importantly, do your own research. Visit the store and pick up the phone. Make sure it is comfortable to hold and use. Whether the iPhone is worth it for you depends on your specific needs. Ask the questions you want answered, even if they seem small. The best cell phone deal in the world won't matter if you are unhappy with the product you purchase.

Keep in mind that most cell phone companies have a 15 to 30 day return policy. Make sure to test the phone where you will be using it the most. If you don't get signal where you need it, consider a different cell phone company. Chances are one of them will fit your coverage needs.

Like most people, I have been putting up with spam since spam was invented. I can say that I've effectively resolved this issue in Outlook after a couple of years of trying different things. Ultimately, I've settled on Cloudmark software and it's been great.

But I digress, this isn't about Outlook. After this concerted effort to eliminate as much spam as possible from my inbox, I decided that it was finally time to start using a smartphone for email. My choices were Palm phones, Blackberrys, Windows based phones, Nokia and of course the iPhone. I chose the iPhone immediately. I've been using palm for years but not for email. Blackberry was the best alternate choice and with respect to email only, might have been a better choice.

A year ago, I had just set up a website for my client. Along with that she, of course, also established an email account. Her contact email was published on the website (against my recommendation) and within a couple of months the email bots had discovered her email and she was now a spam target. We took care of most of the issues by setting up filters in Outlook which can be a painful process. But then she got a blackberry and all that work to eliminate spam could not be duplicated on the Blackberry. Well, I did what I always do when I can't solve a problem. I Googled it: "reduce blackberry spam". We found a program that you can add to your blackberry that provided pretty decent spam filtering and my client is a happy camper.

Fixing this problem wasn't as obvious with the iPhone. Frankly, I did not think to ask the store associate how iPhone handles spam. I was too impressed with "Need for Speed". I've never seen a phone run a game like that. iPhone is truly a handheld video game contender but again I digress. I bought the 16 gig version (which I probably won't ever need, but - you know). I also increased my already unlimited account by another $35 for internet access. I cancelled my gym membership to pay for the increased cost of my iPhone and justified that by saying to myself that I would get in shape the old-fashioned way. I'd run, bike and exercise my way to thin-dom - outdoors! Don't ask how that's going...but I LOVE my iPhone.

And then it hit me. I never realized how much spam I get since I've eliminated most of it in my Outlook software. I was literally swamped. I was getting 100 Plus emails a day and 80% of that was spam. It was so bad frankly that it rendered the email on the iPhone not usable. A quick trip to the iPhone Apps store (via the Apps icon on the iphone) reveals no software that you can put on your iPhone to solve this problem. My trusty Google search yielded the same results. Apparantly nobody but me has a spam issue on their iPhone.

Again though, Google came to the rescue. This time, in a different way. I have had a gmail account for some time. Gmail allows you to route other email through its account. I didn't use that feature too much, but I did have one account doing this. Thinking back, spam was never an issue with that account. Gmail was filtering the spam! So, I started passing all of my POP3 email accounts through gmail. I then read my gmail account using my iphone, Voila'! no spam. The way I've configured this is simple. I use the IMAP settings for the iphone and POP3 settings for Outlook. When my iphone reads the emails, it leaves the emails on the servers (by default). When my outlook gets the emails from gmail, it deletes them from the server. I rarely see spam. That problem is solved.

"Any issues?", you ask. The only annoyance I have is that now that outlook is getting my emails forwarded from gmail, if I reply, my client gets an email from my gmail account instead of my business email. It's supposed to use a default address that I set up but it doesn't seem to be working correctly. I had to set up my business email account back up in Outlook and default to that. I have to make sure when I reply that the email I'm sending from is not a gmail account but is my real business account email...not gmail. It seems that there is an achilles heel in all good solutions but this one I can live with.

iPhone vs. Blackberry: Which is Better?

With the release of the new iPhone G3, the debate arises again. Which is better, the iPhone or the Blackberry? The question is not just acaemic to iPhone developers and the customers who use both brands.

With high feature models like the Blackberry Storm and all kind of publicity as the "first" smartphone, Blackberry holds a huge chunk of the market still. While iPhone has made inroads, in the buttoned up business market, the Blackberry still dominates.

When it comes to size, there is little to quibble about. The Blackberries are slightly smaller, the iPhone slimmer, and to most customers, especially iPhone application developers and users, the size is not fundamentally different.

Browsing Experience

However, the web browser on the iPhone is a quality experience. Using the Safari mobile device with the G3 upgrades, getting online is faster than with any of the other smartphone. With the new speed upgrades, iPhone definetly has the speed advantage over the Blackberry.

The new autofill features populate boxes quickly and require less typing - always a benefit on a phone.

Some argue that the iPhone also displays websites with complex elements better than the Storm as well.

Email

If you're a heavy email user on your smartphone, then even an iPhone developer will likely give the edge to the Storm. The Blackberry line is fundamentally a communication system, and is a superior messaging device.

The Storm allows the user to work with all email addresses in a single mailbox dedicated to all messaging. If you want to address individual email addresses separately, you can also take that route, but you are able to work with all of them in one in-box - a time saver for many people.

Missed call and text messaging alerts also show up in the unified mailbox, another time saving device.

Multi Tasking

One area where iPhone concedes that they don't excel is in multi-tasking. Although the iPhone G3 added cut and paste ability, it still doesn't have multi-tasking features. Apple says they have avoided this feature because of the battery drain, and Blackberrys such as the Storm do have battery issues.

However, even iPhone app developers like the Storm's ability to have several apps open at once and flip easily between them.

Multimedia

The iPhone shines in the multimedia player area, which is not news to any iPhone game developers or iPhone users. With the new G3 ability to shoot video and the iPod quality audio and video players.

The music quality is outstanding and the video seamless.

The iTunes store experience also elevates the iPhone far ahead of the Storm. Although the Storm offers over the air applications as well, they're hard to find. With the unified store for iPhone applications, iPhone developers have a single place to find customers, and customers have a single place to find every application available for the device.

WiFi

The Storm's lack of connectivity to WiFi networks is a glaring omission in the usability of the device. iPhone's ability to take advantage of wifi networks wherever it is makes it more of a mini computer and less like a mobile device.

Jordan Ianelli has been dabbling in iPhone Application Development ever since Apple announced the release of the SDK in 2008. After working on his own as an iPhone app developer, he decided to form a company with 2 other iPhone Developers.

Recently the iphone clones have become the talk of the town, but most of us are not quite sure what exactly an iphone clone is. In that case let us take a brief insight into the iphone clones that are definitely giving the real Apple products a run for their money!! Now that these devices have become a part of the industry standard, many of the mobile companies are desperately trying to flawlessly mimic the features and looks of the original product. This is a clever step on their part to boost the market value of their economical imitations so that they come in par with the other strong competitions in the market.

However, it is generally observed that people usually tag all phones with a huge touchscreen and multi-touch display as an iphone clone without even trying to understand that the phone can at times be even more innovative than the original product. Though it has been more than often seen that the popular iphone clones are generally from China and are typically of a poor quality. Interestingly, even some popular companies have also come up with some models that look exactly like the iphones and include some features that are even a shade better than the originals.

There are various ways in which we can decide upon the top 5 iphone clones. If we view it on a broader spectrum, the list will first include the Samsung Instinct. This iphone look-alike has GPS facility and the data transfer here is faster than its original counterpart. The second in the list is undoubtedly the Sony Xyperia. This iphone clone is definitely one of the most stylish and much awaited phones of the year. Just like the iphone it has a wide-screen display with touchscreen facility.

Next in the row is unquestionably the Deeda Pi, popularly called the ultimate iphone clone. It is one phone that claims more than 95% imitation of the original product. Another clone of the Apple product is the LG Voyager. This smartphone uses a similar menu organization and even has an analogous dock on the bottom screen. These features bring it quite close to the original iphone rating it fourth in the clone list. Finally, the discussion remains incomplete without mentioning the latest iphone clone CiPhone-i88i. This Chinese product is an exact replica of the iphone 3G, but only design wise. The phone lacks the 3G wireless network facility of the original product.

While talking of the iphone clones, it would be unfair if we do not discuss the popular Chinese products that are the true imitators of the Apple iphones. The products are named precisely as IPhon, ILeaf, Tphone, miniOne from Meizu, C-002, IPhone Nano, CECT P168, CECT T5 T32, Cool999, EPhone, LiPhone and so on. Of these, the IPhon looks very similar to the iphone 3G while the ILeaf is a very poor clone of the original device. The C-002 is almost a complete iphone clone with a good market value. The IPhone Nano is called so because it looks like an iphone but is of the size of the ipod Nano.

Most of these phones share the common features of an iphone like 5 separate keys for all basic operations, around dozen speakers that give surround sound facility, 1.3 mega pixel camera and dual SIM support to name just a few. However, since most of us like to go for branded products, it is advisable that we check the phones thoroughly before buying them. One major point of identification is the Apple logo that is found only on the original device. This will save us from all kinds of frauds and will also help us to get the product of our personal choice.

In today's world of electronics, gadgets, and TV, it's no wonder that unemployment is so high. You may be thinking that this statement is completely false and has no real bearing on unemployment (you're probably right) but, hear me out.

The latest time sucker in the lives of millions across the globe is the iPhone. Providing literally thousands of applications and games, users of this magical device find themselves glued to its tiny screen. For what, you might ask? Addicting applications like iFart, PocketGod, or even The Price Is Right (TM).

While all of these and more have been responsible for millions of hours of lost time and productivity, new "games" are set to be the mother of all time killers. Before explaining, it's important to understand how these games affect the economy.

It's really quite simple. First an unsuspecting user decides to purchase a game in the "App Store". That innocent user plans on "trying out" the game for a little fun during a break at work. Little does he know, while playing the game, time actually speeds up! Yes it's true! Time actually speeds up during the playing of any iPhone game!

It becomes clear that due to this strange phenomenon, the user becomes excessively late for work and ultimately, loses their job. Sure this doesn't really affect the masses with just a few iPhone users but due to the 20 million (and growing) user base, this is having a major impact on society and unemployment rates.

Furthermore, this problem is escalated for these poor souls when they try to "find work" but instead find themselves neck deep in the middle of an iPhone game completely unaware that time is speeding by and job interviews are being missed.

There are new iPhone games set to be released that could make this problem even worse. We're not talking about a little worse, but a global pandemic. Currently in the submission process with Apple to get listed in the App Store are new addicting games getting even worse. The majority of those that play these new games lost their jobs (unconfirmed), grew their hair out (due to loss of time), and are losing weight very quickly (actually a benefit of these satanic game).

While some new games are simple "Tower Defense" games, their addicting nature, explosions, fast paced music, and cool graphics could be nothing short of demonic. I highly recommend you join me in NOT purchasing these application from the Apple App store on the iPhone when they are released. Join the fight!

The information in this article is for entertainment purposes only. Warp Defense is a new iPhone game set to release in early August 09' created by Keith Wellman & Jordan Hall of Warped Productions LLC.
