Have you ever gotten lost when in a new locale? Stopping for directions can be embarrassing or even downright dangerous. iPhone GPS on the 3G will help you easily get to your destination.

The maps application uses WiFi, GPD and cell tower location to locate your position. Besides retrieving your location, you can find landmarks or other places such as restaurants by a keyword search.

To get directions, you only have to type in an address and select 'get directions.' Select 'start' and your vehicle location will be represent by a flashing blue dot. The dot moves as your vehicle moves. You can easily switch between different views including map, satellite, and a hybrid view that includes both.

You also have the ability to access live traffic information which gives speeds along your route in different colors.

In the same way as Google maps our computer, maps on iPhone lets you switch between map view, satellite view, and a hybrid view of both. You can get live traffic information, showing traffic speed along your route in easy-to-read green, red, and yellow highlights.

One feature that is not present is voice commands that for example, tells you to turn at a certain time. Users that have become accustomed to this feature on other GPS devices may find this to be a deal breaker.
